In this Episode of Season 5,A middle aged man, who frequently passes out, and goes through time lapses and sleepwalking, is admitted to the hospital. The team tries to find out the reasons behind his condition, wondering whether his symptoms point to some serious ailment or something else.

Later, the team learns about the man’s 12-year old daughter who has also been having bouts of sleepwalking. As the condition of the patient starts deteriorating and his daughter needs a kidney transplant after she develops more symptoms, House feels that the key to the patient’s diagnosis might be found by examining his daughter. Meanwhile, the team has to race against time, to save both the father and the daughter before it is too late.

House also learns that Cuddy is about to adopt a baby that is due in two weeks time. The birth mother develops a strange rash on her arm due to her earlier drug use, which has damaged the baby's lungs. Cuddy takes up the case both as a doctor and a prospective mother. She faces the dilemma of either delivering the baby early, thus putting the child’s life at risk, or waiting for normal delivery which will endanger the birth mother's life.
